A home glute ham raise.
Everybody reads about how amazing a glute ham raise is. Some years ago, someone showed me this exercise where I stand on my knees and they hold my ankles while I imitate the GHR movement. I even tried doing this exercise on my own but where to hook my feet? I can never find a comfortable place that lets me really focus on what is a difficult exercise to the uninitiated!
Naturally there is the GHR bench, but no gym in NYC has one, believe it or not – at least not on the island of Manhattan. You would think such an important piece of equipment – possibly the most crucial piece to developing a posterior chain would be more popular, but no… I even tried to get my local gym to buy a used one, saying that it would be the most popular piece of equipment with the ladies since it develops the buttocks, but the idea didn’t fly at all.
So I began to research a GHR for the home, since I came to the conclusion it would be one of those things that would catapult my development. I found these two:

I bought the one on the bottom because it is the most like the commercial GHR and it allows less pressure on the knee joints then the one above. I can’t wait to try it out, as I have a gut feeling it will change my life for the better.
Another thing that I think this will help me with is that I have a bit of a gut, despite having strong abs and a 31 inch waistline. I believe part of the problem with my gut is caused by bad posture due to having a weak posterior chain relative to other muscle groupings.
I also was in Vitamin Shoppe the other day and saw this:
It’s got great marketing and I bought it. Can you believe it tastes great? It’s addictive! You have to use it for like 4 months to get the results, and obviously have decent diet and exercise which is not a problem for me.
So when I combine the home GHR with SafSlim, I should make some progress by Christmas.
As you can tell, I hate cardio and I’m doing everything in my power to avoid doing it!
Of course, any pro bodybuilder will tell you about the importance of cardio but I just hate it so much!
